Updating Information

AS you are all aware information it is important that is up to date at all times with the club.
But Why?
1 - Its a legislated requirement
2 - Its a club requirement
3 - How the heck can we contact you, submit returns, confirm Permits if we haven't correct information about you.
4 - you will not get club notices including fee related information.
Where out of date information really screws the works up is when we interact with the registry because like us they reference you via key information and if that is wrong it may impact you later in respect to participation, compliance with regulations, fitness to hold a firearms licence etc, simply if you cannot follow the most basic rules anyone would question if you can handle the others, which is kinda reasonable for them to think.
how to update information
The preference is on the club update form so all information is captured (this will be done each year at renewal) but if you move or update anything mid year you will have to obviously update it at the time of change.
The timeframe for updating is 14 days.
You can email, post or deliver this infromation to the Secretary.
What information is required
Name
Address
Email
Phone number
Probationary Pistol Licence
Full Firearms Licence Number
Licence Expiry
Category changes
Suspensions, Revocation (this is within 24hrs)
Firearms kinds held (for participation calculations) if you have lied about this we will be able to see the correct level in the registry system soon so I suggest correcting prior to that coming live.
Participation at other clubs (must be notified within 30 days) This is club not regulation
What will happen if I do not up date
You will be suspended unless there is a reasonable explaination for you not updating the club, do not blame other people. A suspension is registered with the firearms registry and they will likely take action.
You may be exited from the club if there are multiple incidences
You will fail training if you are probationary and not be renewed.
Why has this become so strict, well when the club is audited the Secretary, committee and club are brought in to a poor light with the police and registry as not being compliant when the issue is really the person not simoply spending 5 minutes doing the right thing.
Do the right thing its so much easier and we do not want negativity in our club but we can no longer allow members to be loosey goosey with this stuff.
